Agastya Nanda’s Ikkis Trailer Wins Hearts: Amitabh Bachchan’s Emotional Note Goes Viral

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a heartfelt message after watching the trailer of his grandson Agastya Nanda’s much-anticipated war drama, Ikkis. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, marks Agastya’s big-screen debut and brings to life the valiant story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee.

The megastar took to social media to pen an emotional note, reminiscing about Agastya’s childhood and expressing immense pride in his journey. “Agastya! I held you in my hands as soon as you were born... few months later, you reached out to play with my beard... today, you play in theatres all over the world,” wrote Amitabh. He added, “You are special. All my prayers and blessings to you. May you ever bring glory to your work and the greatest pride for the family.”

The post quickly went viral, with fans and industry colleagues flooding the comments with love and admiration. Many praised Amitabh’s warmth and Agastya’s poised entry into cinema, calling Ikkis one of the most awaited films of the year.

Unveiled on October 29, the Ikkis trailer showcases Agastya as Lt. Arun Khetarpal, who displayed extraordinary bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war at just 21 years old. The visuals capture his transformation from a cadet at the National Defence Academy to a young soldier who sacrificed his life defending his country.

The film also delves into Arun’s personal life, blending patriotic fervour with emotional depth. Simar Bhatia plays his romantic interest, adding a tender touch to the wartime narrative. Legendary actor Dharmendra appears as Khetarpal’s father, while Jaideep Ahlawat portrays a senior army officer who plays a key role in the storyline.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Ikkis promises to be a powerful cinematic tribute to heroism, sacrifice, and youthful courage. Known for his mastery of storytelling, director Sriram Raghavan—acclaimed for Andhadhun and Badlapur—is expected to deliver a film that balances emotional depth with gripping realism.

With Amitabh Bachchan’s blessings and an inspiring real-life tale at its core, Ikkis stands poised to be a defining moment in Agastya Nanda’s acting career. The film releases in theatres this December 2025.
