Ashnoor Kaur Body-Shaming Row: Bigg Boss 19 Star Reveals Battle With Eating Disorders And Self-Image

The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 took an emotional turn as actor Ashnoor Kaur opened up about her long-standing battle with body-image issues. During Weekend Ka Vaar, host Salman Khan addressed a series of body-shaming remarks directed at Ashnoor by fellow contestants, sparking a conversation on the mental toll of such behavior.

Salman confronted Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri for their inappropriate comments and read aloud the statements made inside the house. The remarks visibly upset Ashnoor, who chose to share her personal journey with body-image struggles — a revelation that moved both contestants and viewers.

Speaking candidly, Ashnoor revealed, “This has been a big part of my life. I’ve faced hormonal imbalances that cause bloating under stress. As a teenager, I suffered from eating disorders — I used to starve myself just to fit in. Before joining the show, I lost nine kilos, but after entering this stressful environment, my body reacted differently.”

She further emphasized that body diversity must be respected, adding, “Everyone’s body works differently. When you mock someone’s appearance, you’re not just hurting one person — you’re influencing many watching outside. It’s time we stop normalizing such behavior.”

Gauahar Khan, a former Bigg Boss winner, also called out Tanya Mittal for her behavior. In a statement, Gauahar said, “Tanya was entertaining at first, but her comments calling Ashnoor ‘haathi’ (elephant) and ‘chubby’ were disgusting and disappointing.”

The episode also addressed a separate controversy involving Shehbaz Badesha, who made comments referencing late actor Sidharth Shukla’s fans. Salman Khan urged him to focus on his gameplay instead of relying on past connections for popularity.

Adding a touch of entertainment to the intense episode, musical siblings Neha and Tony Kakkar joined Salman on stage, while Shehnaaz Gill appeared to promote her upcoming film Ikk Kudi. Filmmaker Ektaa Kapoor made a special announcement about her hit series Naagin 7, revealing the new lead actor.

The episode served as a strong reminder that body-shaming and mental health struggles remain pressing issues in the entertainment industry. Ashnoor Kaur’s honesty resonated with millions, inspiring conversations about self-acceptance and empathy in the public eye.
