PM Modi Slams RJD-Congress Over Chhath Puja Insult, Recalls Golu Kidnapping Case in Bihar Election Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a fiery election speech in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, launching a sharp attack on the RJD-Congress alliance for allegedly mocking the state’s most revered festival — Chhath Puja.

Accusing the opposition of disrespecting Bihar’s cultural pride, PM Modi said, “For them, Chhathi Maiya Ki Puja ek drama hai, nautanki hai” — referring to the RJD-Congress leaders’ remarks that allegedly demeaned the religious sentiments of millions.

He contrasted this with his government’s efforts to get Chhath Mahaparva recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, showcasing the NDA’s commitment to preserving Indian traditions and festivals.

Modi Recalls Golu Kidnapping Case, Slams ‘Jungle Raj’

In a powerful reminder of Bihar’s turbulent past, PM Modi invoked the Golu kidnapping case of 2001, a high-profile crime that symbolized the era of lawlessness under the RJD regime.

He described the RJD’s tenure as an era defined by five words — “katta” (guns), “krurta” (cruelty), “kattuta” (bitterness), “kushasan” (misgovernance), and “corruption.”

Modi said that under the NDA government, Bihar has moved from fear and chaos to development and empowerment.

Highlighting Bihar’s Progress and Local Heroes

PM Modi highlighted his government’s efforts to uplift rural communities and promote women’s empowerment. He mentioned how the government honoured Rajkumari Devi, popularly known as Kisan Chachi from Muzaffarpur, with the Padma Shri award for her contribution to agriculture.

He also spoke about the NDA’s push to grant Geographical Indication (GI) tags to local products, helping boost Bihar’s economy and cultural identity.

PM Modi ended his address by urging voters to reject “the politics of corruption and chaos” and support a government that respects Bihar’s traditions while driving modern progress.
