BB 19: Gaurav Khanna Rejects Claims of Using Wife’s No-Children Choice for Sympathy

Bigg Boss 19 finalist Gaurav Khanna has addressed speculation surrounding comments he made about his wife Akanksha Chamola’s decision not to have children, clarifying that he did not share the information to gain sympathy from the audience.

During a press conference inside the Bigg Boss house, a viewer questioned whether Gaurav’s earlier remarks about his wife's choice were a strategic “sympathy card.” Responding emotionally, Gaurav firmly denied the allegation, stating that his words reflected his genuine feelings and respect for his wife.

Gaurav emphasised that while he personally loves children and once wished to have them, he chose to honour his wife’s wishes. He said,
“Of course I love kids, and when I married, I truly wanted children. But in today’s world, very few men love their wives enough to set aside their own desires for her happiness.”

He added that respecting a partner’s autonomy is a core part of marriage:
“I love my wife. I will stand by every decision she makes.”

The promo for an upcoming episode shows fellow contestant Farrhana Bhatt asking Gaurav why he became emotional during the press conference. Gaurav responded by saying he does not want anyone speaking about his wife inside the game, comparing it to Farrhana’s own emotional reaction when her father was mentioned.

Before entering Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav had discussed Akanksha’s decision in an interview, explaining that she loves children but does not wish to become a mother. He said her mental and emotional readiness is essential, and a child deserves a mother who is fully prepared for parenthood.

Gaurav’s statements have reopened conversations about respecting personal choices in relationships and how deeply personal matters are interpreted in a competitive reality-show environment. With Bigg Boss 19 now in its finale week, audience interest around the finalists’ personal narratives is intensifying.
