Red Fort Blast: Mika Singh Cancels Delhi Show After Tragic Explosion Near Metro Station

In the aftermath of the deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, singer Mika Singh has announced the cancellation of his scheduled performance at Soho Club, Delhi. The tragic explosion, which occurred on November 10, claimed 10 lives and injured 20 others, prompting heightened security and widespread cancellations of public events across the capital.

The car, a Hyundai i20 bearing a Haryana registration number, exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 pm. Witnesses described a deafening blast that shook nearby areas and left vehicles damaged along the busy stretch.

Following the incident, Mika Singh took to Instagram to confirm that his upcoming performance had been called off out of respect for the victims. His post, featuring a folded-hand emoji and a heart wrapped in a bandage, was interpreted as a gesture of solidarity and mourning.

“This is not a time for celebration but reflection. My thoughts are with the victims and their families,” a source close to the singer told All India Story.

Entertainment Events Across Delhi Put on Hold

Mika Singh’s concert is not the only casualty of the city’s tense atmosphere. The high-profile trailer launch of the upcoming action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna, has also been postponed.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar was scheduled to unveil its trailer on November 12, but the production team confirmed the delay “in light of the national tragedy.” The film, produced by Jio Studios, is now expected to hit theatres on December 5, 2025.

A spokesperson for the event stated, “It didn’t feel appropriate to hold a celebration when the city is in shock. The decision was made out of respect for the victims.”

These cancellations come amid the government’s intensified security review across Delhi and neighbouring states.

The Red Fort Blast: What We Know So Far

Investigations have revealed that the Red Fort car blast may have links to a terror network operating between Kashmir, Faridabad, and Delhi.

According to officials, three doctors — Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather (Qazigund), Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai (Pulwama), and Dr. Shaheen Saeed — have been arrested for their suspected role in facilitating the network’s logistics. Two more individuals, Tariq Ahmad Dar (Samboora, Pulwama) and Umar alias Amir, have also been detained.

Investigators believe that Tariq handed over the car to Amir shortly before the explosion, suggesting a planned infiltration and sabotage attempt.

Sources within the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police Special Cell have confirmed that multiple agencies, including the National Security Guard (NSG), are jointly analysing the blast site, vehicle remnants, and CCTV footage from surrounding areas.

Nationwide Security on High Alert

In the wake of the blast, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has placed all major Indian cities under high alert, particularly transport hubs, government buildings, and crowded marketplaces.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has tightened surveillance at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, all Delhi Metro stations, and railway stations across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Similar alerts have been issued in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Kolkata, and Mumbai, with additional police deployment and anti-sabotage drills.

TRF and LeT Links Under Probe

Meanwhile, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district detained two individuals — Tariq Ahmad Tantray and Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone — for alleged links to The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Police recovered 10 propaganda posters from the suspects, believed to be part of a coordinated effort to spread anti-India sentiment. Officials say TRF had previously claimed responsibility for the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people.

A senior officer told All India Story, “The Red Fort blast shares multiple operational similarities with earlier TRF-linked attempts. We are exploring whether sleeper cells were activated in the NCR.”

Mika Singh’s Gesture Resonates With Fans

In a time of fear and grief, Mika Singh’s decision to cancel his show has been met with widespread appreciation from fans and fellow artists. Social media flooded with messages praising the singer’s sensitivity and restraint.

“Mika set the right example,” tweeted one fan. “Music unites people, and his silence today speaks louder than any performance could.”

The singer, known for chartbusters like Subha Hone Na De, Aaj Ki Party, and Bas Ek King, has long been active in charity efforts. His management team confirmed that Mika is exploring ways to support the families of the victims through donations or fundraising events in the future.

A City in Mourning, A Nation on Guard

As Delhi mourns the victims of the Red Fort blast, the entertainment world too has paused its celebrations in solidarity. With investigations uncovering chilling cross-state links and multiple arrests already made, authorities remain on edge, ensuring the safety of upcoming public gatherings.

The tragedy has cast a long shadow over the capital’s cultural and social calendar — a reminder of the continued vigilance required against threats to peace and security.

Mika Singh’s heartfelt response and the nation’s united call for resilience reflect a common truth: even in moments of fear, empathy and humanity remain Delhi’s strongest shields.
