PTI Warns of Islamabad March on September 27 Over Imran Khan Jail Case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will launch a nationwide march to Islamabad on September 27 if its demands regarding jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife are not addressed.

The warning was issued by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi during a large PTI gathering in Peshawar, held ahead of the completion of three years since Khan's imprisonment.

PTI Lists Two Key Demands

Addressing party supporters, Afridi said PTI's primary demands are:

• Immediate scheduling and merit-based hearings of the cases against Imran Khan and his wife.
• Restoration of access for Khan's lawyers, doctors, family members and party leaders.

Afridi claimed that if justice is delivered, Khan could be released "within 30 minutes." Otherwise, PTI supporters from across Pakistan would converge on Islamabad for a peaceful protest.

Party Calls for Constitutional, Peaceful Protest

Afridi stressed that PTI is seeking justice, not political favours, and said the party intends to continue its movement through constitutional and democratic means.

He welcomed supporters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan, describing the turnout at the Peshawar rally as evidence of Khan's continued public support.

He also confirmed that he would personally lead the proposed march if the party's demands remain unmet by September 27.

PTI Criticises Judiciary and Constitutional Amendments

During his speech, Afridi alleged that Imran Khan has been held in solitary confinement and claimed that his sisters have faced difficulties while attempting to meet him in prison.

He also criticised Pakistan's 26th and 27th Constitutional Amendments, arguing that they have weakened the judiciary's independence.

According to Afridi, PTI has exhausted all available legal avenues and now intends to exercise its constitutional right to peaceful protest.

Fresh Political Pressure Builds Around Imran Khan

Afridi repeated PTI's longstanding allegation that Imran Khan was removed from office through an external conspiracy aided by internal collaborators after refusing to compromise on Pakistan's sovereignty.

He also blamed the current government for economic challenges, deteriorating regional relations and worsening security, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

With Khan completing three years in jail and PTI setting a September 27 deadline, political tensions in Pakistan are expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
