BJP MP Anil Baluni Shares Terrifying Landslide Encounter in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand BJP Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni on Thursday shared a chilling video on social media, showing him narrowly escaping a massive landslide while visiting areas affected by heavy rainfall in the hill state.

The video captures Baluni standing on a road as a hillside collapses dangerously close, reflecting the severity of Uttarakhand’s ongoing disaster.

In his post, the MP said:
"The heavy rainfall and landslides in Uttarakhand this year have left deep wounds that will take a long time to heal. I am sharing a horrific scene of a landslide in the disaster-affected area from last evening."

He also prayed for the safety and well-being of the people and praised the efforts of NDRF and SDRF teams, local administration, and workers for their tireless service amid challenging conditions.

Uttarakhand has experienced intense rainfall in recent months. This week, cloudbursts were reported in Dehradun and Chamoli, along with landslides and flash floods in other parts of the state.

At least 15 people have died this week due to rain-triggered incidents, including 13 in Dehradun alone. Additionally, at least 10 people went missing in Chamoli after a cloudburst caused heavy debris flow, reducing six buildings to rubble.

The state government has issued a red alert for Dehradun, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar, warning of further landslides, heavy rainfall, infrastructure damage, and potential fatalities through September 20.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the priority remains the swift restoration of essential services and safety measures for affected residents.
