IIT Kanpur Placement 2025–26: Record 672 Job Offers on Day 1, 16% Rise From Last Year

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has kicked off its 2025–26 placement season with a historic achievement, securing 672 job offers on Day 1—the highest the institute has ever recorded. The placement drive began on December 1 and the number is likely to rise as additional results come in.

This year’s Day 1 performance marks a 16% jump from last year, reflecting stronger industry partnerships and the rising demand for IIT Kanpur graduates in India and global markets.

627 Students Placed, 20% Rise From Last Year

Of the total offers made, 627 students were placed on Day 1, including 253 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). This represents a 20% increase in students placed compared to last year.

The surge in PPOs—up 27% from the previous season—highlights the institute’s strong internship ecosystem and the confidence employers place in students’ performance and skills.

International Placements Strengthen Global Presence

Nine students also secured international job offers, signalling IIT Kanpur’s growing global reach and relevance across technology, finance, consulting and emerging sectors. These offers further underline the institute’s success in preparing industry-ready graduates who can compete on a global scale.

More than 250 leading companies participated in the initial placement cycle. Some of the major recruiters included:
