Kim Kardashian Opens Up on Bar Exam Struggles and Determination

Kim Kardashian has opened up about her challenging experience preparing for the California bar exam, sharing an emotional video detailing the intense study process, physical strain, and personal determination that defined her journey. The beauty entrepreneur and television personality revealed that despite her efforts, she did not pass the exam — but remains committed to pursuing her goal of becoming a lawyer.

In the video posted on November 16, Kardashian offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at her rigorous two-week study routine before the exam. She spent long hours reviewing case law, working with professors and balancing her legal studies with her health struggles, including back pain and disc issues.

Despite these setbacks, she pushed forward, sharing, “Every time I feel like I’m a step ahead, something happens to try to stop me from doing this.” Her commitment continued throughout her children’s vacation, choosing to study instead of taking time off.

On the eve of the exam, Kardashian expressed optimism, saying she felt more prepared and healthier than she had during previous attempts.

However, on November 7, she received news that she had not passed. The update coincided with the premiere of her Hulu project All’s Fair, in which she portrays a divorce lawyer. Reflecting on the moment, she told fans, “It was disappointing, but it wasn’t the end. This dream means too much to me to walk away from, so I’m going to keep studying, keep learning, and keep showing up for myself until I get there.”

She continued her message of resilience online, writing:
“I'm not a lawyer yet — I just play one on TV. Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”

Kardashian thanked her supporters as well, adding, “Failing short isn’t failure — it’s fuel. I was so close to passing, and that only motivated me more. Let’s go!”

Her passion for the law is deeply rooted in her family history. Her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., famously served on O.J. Simpson’s defense team. Over the past few years, she has pursued legal studies while managing her businesses, advocacy work and public life, often using her platform to highlight issues related to criminal justice reform.
