Adil Hussain Meets Mads Mikkelsen at Venice Film Festival, Praises Actor’s Humility
Indian actor Adil Hussain had a memorable encounter with Hollywood star Mads Mikkelsen at the Venice International Film Festival 2025. Sharing photos from the meeting on Instagram, Hussain wrote:
“Just bumped into Mads Mikkelson at the press club at the Venice Film Festival. What an actor and humble person #veniceinternationalfilmfestival.”
Fans flooded the post with excitement. Comments included: “Woooow!!!!! Mads Mikkelsen is one of my favourite actors. What a great chance!” and “Two OGs in one frame.”
Hussain is attending the festival for the premiere of his film, ‘Secret of a Mountain Serpent’, directed by Nidhi Saxena. The movie also stars Trimala Adhikari and Pushpendra Singh, and is set in a remote Himalayan town during the Kargil War of the late 1990s. The narrative explores the lives of women left behind in villages emptied of men, told through the lens of local folklore, including myths about women forbidden to enter a river where a serpent awaits.
The Venice Film Festival has also showcased high-profile films such as Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’, Noah Baumbach’s ‘Jay Kelly’, and Luca Guadagnino’s ‘After The Hunt’, which stars Julia Roberts. Notably, ‘Jay Kelly’ received an 8.5-minute standing ovation, while ‘After The Hunt’ sparked discussion around the MeToo campaign.
The Venice International Film Festival 2025 concludes on September 5, celebrating cinema from around the world and creating opportunities for cross-cultural collaborations, as reflected in Hussain’s meeting with Mikkelsen.
