BJP Leader Forces Man to Apologise, Rub Nose on Road in Police Presence

A shocking incident involving BJP Kisan Morcha District Vice President Vikul Chaprana came to light after a video went viral showing him publicly humiliating a young man in front of police officers. The footage shows Chaprana forcing the youth to apologise by rubbing his nose on the road while invoking the name of Energy State Minister Dr Somendra Tomar.

The episode reportedly took place on October 19 at Tez Garhi Chowraha near the Medical police station. The confrontation began as a minor parking dispute between Chaprana and two youths whose car was parked near Dr Somendra Tomar’s office. What started as a routine disagreement escalated into a physical scuffle, prompting police intervention.

Video evidence shows a sub-inspector and a constable attempting to move the car while other officers stood by. Despite their presence, Chaprana allegedly stopped the vehicle, intimidated the youths, and forced one of them to apologise publicly in the market. The youth complied, folding his hands while rubbing his nose on the road, as Chaprana and his associates continued to intimidate him.

During the incident, Chaprana is also seen arguing with police personnel. Reports indicate that the group allegedly damaged the car’s windows. Chaprana, who enjoys support from senior BJP leaders, had previously celebrated Dr Somendra Tomar’s birthday with hoardings and unipoles across the city.

Following public outrage over the viral video, the police registered a case against Chaprana and arrested him. Additionally, station in-charge and three other police personnel—Kirti Palace Gaurav Singh, Chetan Singh, and constable Brijesh Kumar—have been suspended and transferred to police lines for negligence in failing to intervene during the incident. Statements of the officers present are being recorded as part of ongoing investigations.

The Civil Lines area officer’s report emphasized that forcing a youth to apologise publicly in the presence of police amounted to a severe misuse of authority, prompting disciplinary action. The incident has sparked widespread criticism online, raising concerns over political influence, public humiliation, and accountability of law enforcement officers.
