Amit Shah’s Masterstroke? Upendra Kushwaha Makes U-Turn in Bihar NDA Seat-Sharing Talks

In a dramatic twist to Bihar’s political chessboard, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha made a complete U-turn in his stance towards the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), just days after publicly declaring that “nothing is well in NDA.” The turnaround came after a high-stakes meeting in Delhi with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which was also attended by Union Minister Nityanand Rai.

Prior to the meeting, Kushwaha had voiced strong discontent over seat-sharing arrangements, especially concerning constituencies demanded by Chirag Paswan’s party. His statements had indicated internal friction within the NDA, raising questions about the alliance’s cohesion ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025.

However, following intensive discussions with Shah, Kushwaha reversed his public position, asserting that “all is well in NDA.” He has now urged his party cadre to rally behind the alliance and focus on ensuring an NDA victory in Bihar. This strategic realignment not only underscores Amit Shah’s political acumen but also reinforces the BJP’s intent to present a united front in the state elections.

Political analysts suggest that Shah’s ability to address Kushwaha’s concerns and resolve the dispute over key constituencies reflects a broader strategy to maintain NDA’s strength in Bihar, despite internal challenges. With the U-turn, the RLM is expected to work closely with the BJP and other NDA constituents, smoothing the path for a cohesive campaign strategy in the coming months.

This development could prove pivotal in determining seat allocations, voter sentiment, and ultimately the NDA’s performance in Bihar’s politically sensitive landscape.
