CBSE Launches 14 New Teacher Training Programmes Under NEP 2020

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced 14 new Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) aimed at strengthening teacher training and professional growth across its affiliated schools. The announcement was made at the National Teachers Conference 2025 in Patna, with the programmes set to begin in October 2025.

Under the ‘Prashikshan Triveni’ initiative, the CBPs will be delivered through CBSE’s Centres of Excellence (CoEs). Schools have been directed to inform and enrol their teachers in these modules, which are designed to upgrade subject knowledge, provide innovative pedagogical tools, and enhance classroom engagement in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Key Highlights of the New CBPs:

  • Hindi (Class 10): Focus on effective pedagogical strategies aligned with national language learning goals.

  • Sanskrit (Secondary Stage): Learner-centric training to strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

  • Painting (Secondary Stage): Covers creative painting, folk art, origami, printmaking, and calligraphy to boost artistic expression.

  • Competency-Based Assessment: Modules in Social Science, Science, and Mathematics for middle and secondary stages, encouraging critical thinking and real-world application.

  • Economics (Class 12): Modular CBP focused on National Income and Related Aggregates, with strategies for competency-based teaching and assessment.

  • Value Education Through Sports (All Stages): Promotes teamwork, inclusion, resilience, and equity by integrating sports into teaching.

  • STEM Education (All Stages): Hands-on, interdisciplinary approaches to foster innovation, creativity, and 21st-century skills.

These training programmes aim to create a more inclusive, practical, and holistic learning environment, while equipping educators to meet the evolving challenges of modern classrooms. The CBSE reaffirmed its commitment to capacity building as a key driver of improved learning outcomes, teacher motivation, and student engagement.
