India has been recommended as the host for the centenary edition of the Commonwealth Games 2030, with Ahmedabad likely to be the host city. This recommendation follows India’s consistent track record of successfully hosting major international sporting events over the past decade.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, India has strategically pursued global tournaments, aiming ultimately to host the Summer Olympics in 2036. High-profile sporting events have helped build world-class infrastructure and positioned India as a credible venue for multi-disciplinary competitions.

The recommendation comes at a pivotal time for the Commonwealth Games, which has faced hosting challenges, including Glasgow 2026 being scaled down after Victoria, Australia, withdrew due to rising costs.
