Maharashtra Mother Kills 7-Year-Old Son Over Chicken Request

A tragic incident from Dhansar village in Palghar, Maharashtra, has shocked the community. A 7-year-old boy, Chinmay Dhumde, was allegedly beaten to death by his mother with a rolling pin after he asked for chicken to eat.

According to police reports, the mother repeatedly struck Chinmay on the head and body, causing fatal injuries. Despite his critical condition, she did not seek medical attention, and the boy died at home.

A concerned neighbor grew suspicious when the mother claimed the child had died of jaundice. Upon inspection, the neighbor discovered multiple injuries and alerted authorities. Police subsequently found that Chinmay’s 10-year-old sister was also assaulted with the same rolling pin and sustained serious injuries. She has been hospitalized and later moved to an ashram for safety.

The accused woman has been taken into custody, and the rolling pin used in the attack was seized. Police revealed she had been living separately from her husband along with her children and two sisters.

A case under Section 103(1) (murder) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered. While the mother admitted responsibility, police continue their investigation, and the post-mortem report will confirm the exact cause of death.
