Rahul Gandhi Alleges Systemic Voter Deletions, Criticises Election Commission

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi renewed his criticism of the Election Commission on Friday, alleging illegal deletion and manipulation of voter lists in Karnataka and Maharashtra. In a social media post, Gandhi described the process sarcastically: “Wake up at 4 am, delete names of voters, then go back to sleep. Repeat.”

Gandhi accused the Election Commission of “protecting vote chors,” implying complicity in the alleged electoral misconduct. He further claimed that centralized software was used to remove and add voters, citing an attempt to delete over 6,000 names from the electoral rolls in Karnataka’s Aland constituency ahead of the 2023 elections.

To support his allegations, Gandhi referenced three case studies, including the instance of a person named Nagaraj. The Election Commission, however, has dismissed these claims as “baseless.”

Through his posts and public statements, Gandhi has intensified scrutiny on voter roll management and called for accountability in the electoral process.
