Rishabh Pant Hints at Comeback After Toe Fracture in Heartfelt Instagram Post

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has sent a message to fans about his eagerness to return to cricket after a toe fracture sustained during the England Test series in July. Sharing a photo of his bandaged foot on Instagram, Pant captioned it: “How many days in this?”, reflecting both his restlessness and excitement to get back on the field.

The 27-year-old picked up the injury while attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes in the fourth Test at Manchester. The ball struck his right foot, resulting in a metatarsal fracture, ruling him out of the remainder of the series and putting him on a six-week recovery timeline.

Pant’s injury sidelines him for the Asia Cup 2025, starting September 9 in the UAE, where India will face Oman, UAE, and Pakistan. His availability for India’s home Test series against West Indies, beginning October 2, remains uncertain.

Despite the setback, Pant has kept spirits high. He recently shared a humorous video of himself making pizzas at home, joking: “Ghar pe to kuch banaya nahi hai, yaha pizza bana raha hai” (“I haven’t cooked anything at home, and here I am making pizza”). Pant’s lighthearted posts reflect his positive approach to recovery, even as match fitness is closely monitored in the coming weeks.

While surgery isn’t necessary, Pant’s return to competitive cricket will depend on his recovery progress and fitness assessments. Fans eagerly await the day the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter rejoins India’s lineup, ready to showcase his explosive talent once again.
