Salman Khan Clears Misunderstanding with Arijit Singh | Friendship and Continued Collaborations

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan addressed longstanding rumours of a fallout with singer Arijit Singh during a recent episode of 'Bigg Boss 19', clarifying that the misunderstanding was entirely on his side. The actor emphasized that there was never any real enmity, and both continue to maintain a friendly and professional relationship.

Origin of the Rumour

The speculation began at the 2014 Star Guild Awards, when Salman jokingly asked a tired Arijit Singh, "So gaye the [Were you sleeping]?" Arijit, smiling, responded, "Aap logon ne sula diya yaar [You guys made me fall asleep]." What seemed a light-hearted exchange sparked years of media and fan rumours about tension between the two.

Media Speculation and Song Replacements

Reports suggested Salman allegedly removed Arijit’s versions of songs from films like Kick, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Sultan—with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan eventually singing Jag Ghoomeya for the latter. In 2016, Arijit publicly addressed the rumours on social media, seeking to clarify the misunderstanding and reaffirm his respect for Salman.

Salman Breaks Silence

On 'Bigg Boss 19', Salman confirmed the matter was a personal misunderstanding on his part. He said, "Arijit aur main bahut achhe dost hai. Woh misunderstanding thi aur woh misunderstanding mere side se huyi thi. Uske baad usne gaane bhi kiye mere liye. 'Tiger 3' mein kiya usne, agge 'Galwan' mein kar raha hai" (“Arijit and I are very good friends. That misunderstanding had happened from my side. After that, he even sang songs for me—he sang in 'Tiger 3' and now he’s doing one in 'Galwan'”).

Continued Collaborations

Salman’s remarks confirm that their professional collaboration continues unhindered, with Arijit contributing to both Tiger 3 and the upcoming film Galwan. The clarification puts an end to years of speculation, highlighting a strong and ongoing bond between the actor and singer.
