SBI Launches Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025: Financial Aid Up to Rs 20 Lakh, Apply by November 15

The State Bank of India (SBI), through its CSR arm SBI Foundation, has announced the Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025, offering financial support of up to Rs 20,00,000 per year to deserving students. This initiative aims to assist 23,230 underprivileged students from Class 9 through postgraduate studies in continuing their education without financial barriers. Applications are open online until November 15, 2025.

This scholarship marks SBI’s Platinum Jubilee and represents one of its largest educational support programs. Annual support ranges from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,00,000, continuing until students complete their course of study.

Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman of SBI, said, “We are proud to launch the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship to nurture 23,230 of India’s brightest young minds from humble backgrounds, enabling them to realise their full potential. By creating a strong ecosystem for these scholars, we aim to empower them to become torchbearers of progress and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Indian nationals with at least 75% marks or 7.0 CGPA in the previous academic year

  • Family income:

    • Up to Rs 3 lakh/year for school students

    • Up to Rs 6 lakh/year for college students

  • Students from Class 9–12, undergraduates, postgraduates, IITs, IIMs, medical courses, and those aspiring to study abroad

  • Special focus on SC/ST students pursuing master’s or higher education at top global universities

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Covers educational expenses until course completion

  • Available for students at NIRF top 300 or NAAC ‘A’ rated institutions, IITs, IIMs, medical courses, and selected international programs

  • Emphasizes support for meritorious students from modest backgrounds

Applications must be submitted online via sbiashascholarship.co.in by November 15, 2025. SBI has allocated Rs 90 crore for FY26 to fund this program, underscoring its commitment to accessible education and fostering the ambitions of young Indians.
