Shalini Pandey Backs Deepika Padukone’s 8-Hour Shift Demand | Mental Health & Industry Reforms

Actress Shalini Pandey praised Deepika Padukone for her advocacy on mental health and professional reforms, supporting the actor’s request for eight-hour work shifts for new mothers. Shalini emphasised that Deepika deserves to set her own terms in the film industry.

In an interview with HT City, Shalini said, “I love Deepika Padukone, I have followed her journey since school. She is incredible and has always spoken about what she wants, including mental health. Kudos to her. She should get whatever she wants.”

Deepika recently made headlines for stepping back from projects such as 'Spirit' and the sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD', reportedly due to her desire for limited working hours to care for her daughter. In a CNBC-TV18 interview, she welcomed industry reforms that support new mothers, sparking conversations about professional balance and well-being.

Shalini’s recent film 'Idli Kadai', directed and co-produced by Dhanush, released on October 1, 2025. The Tamil slice-of-life film features Arun Vijay, Sathyaraj, P Samuthirakani, Nithya Menen, Rajkiran, and R Parthiban. India Today praised the movie for its performances and messaging, highlighting themes of non-violence and dialogue.

Shalini gained recognition with her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 'Arjun Reddy' alongside Vijay Deverakonda, and continues to advocate for positive change within the industry.
