Stranger Things 5 Episode Runtimes Revealed: Volume 1 Episodes Confirmed

After weeks of speculation, Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer has clarified the runtimes for the first four episodes of Stranger Things 5, putting an end to rumours that the final season would feature 90-minute episodes.

On Instagram, Duffer shared the official episode lengths, noting that while the final season will be grand, it won’t turn every episode into a feature-length film. The announcement comes after online chatter suggested that each episode would run well over 90 minutes.

Episode runtimes for Volume 1:

  • Episode 1 – The Crawl: 1 hour 8 minutes

  • Episode 2 – Title unrevealed: 54 minutes

  • Episode 3 – The Turnbow Trap: 1 hour 6 minutes

  • Episode 4 – Sorcerer (mid-season finale): 1 hour 23 minutes

These confirmed runtimes contradict earlier reports that episodes could stretch up to nearly two hours. The Duffers have kept details of the remaining episodes under wraps, but this gives fans a clear picture of what to expect from Hawkins’ final chapter.

Netflix will release Stranger Things 5 in three parts:

  • Volume 1: Four episodes on November 26, coinciding with Thanksgiving

  • Volume 2: Three episodes on Christmas Day

  • Finale: The Rightside Up on New Year’s Eve

Directed by the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Frank Darabont, the concluding season will see the return of the beloved ensemble: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke. Fans can expect one last epic showdown in Hawkins as the Stranger Things saga concludes.
