Zubeen Garg PSOs Arrested Over Financial Irregularities Following Singer’s Death

Assam police have arrested two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of the late singer Zubeen Garg, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya, in connection with the singer’s death in Singapore. The officers, who had been assigned to Garg for nearly a decade following a death threat from the banned militant group ULFA, were suspended after investigations revealed financial irregularities exceeding Rs 1.1 crore. One account reportedly held Rs 70 lakh, while the other contained Rs 45 lakh — amounts far beyond the PSOs’ known sources of income.

Garg’s wife, Garima Garg, stated that the funds were intended for social work initiated by Zubeen and documented by the PSOs in diaries and bank statements. She clarified she was unaware of the financial dealings and urged the public to focus on uncovering the truth behind Zubeen Garg’s death.

The PSOs are currently being produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Guwahati, with authorities emphasizing that the primary focus should remain on investigating the circumstances surrounding the singer’s demise.
