Apple has confirmed its next major product launch event for September 9, 2026. The event, carrying the tagline “Surprise and shine”, will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, with several new devices expected to be unveiled.
The company is widely expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the event. Apple’s first foldable iPhone could also make its debut, potentially making it one of the company’s biggest September launches in recent years.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 am PT. For viewers in India, the Apple launch event will begin at 10:30 pm IST on September 9. The presentation is expected to be streamed through Apple’s official platforms, including its website, YouTube channel and Apple TV app.
iPhone 18 Pro Series Expected
Apple is expected to unveil three new iPhone models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a foldable iPhone reportedly referred to as the iPhone Ultra.
The regular iPhone 18 may not be introduced alongside the Pro models. Reports suggest Apple could be changing its launch cycle, with the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air potentially arriving in 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to retain a familiar design but could receive significant internal upgrades. Rumoured features include a variable-aperture main camera, a smaller Dynamic Island, Apple’s C2 modem and the new A20 Pro chipset, which is expected to use an advanced 2nm manufacturing process.
New colour options could also be introduced, including a Dark Cherry variant alongside black, silver and light blue. The new Pro models may also see a price increase amid rising component and memory costs.
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Could Debut
The foldable iPhone is expected to be the biggest attraction of the September event. Rumours suggest that Apple could introduce a book-style foldable device with an outer display measuring around 5.3 to 5.5 inches and an internal screen ranging between 7.6 and 7.8 inches.
When unfolded, the device could offer a larger, tablet-like experience.
To maintain a slim design, Apple may reportedly make certain hardware compromises. The foldable iPhone could feature Touch ID integrated into the power button instead of Face ID and may include two rear cameras instead of a telephoto camera system.
Other expected features include a titanium frame and a foldable display designed to minimise the visibility of the crease.
The device could also become Apple’s most expensive iPhone yet, with reports suggesting a starting price of around $1,999. Higher-end configurations could reportedly reach approximately $2,500.
New Apple Watch and AirPods Models
Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. While major design changes are not widely expected, the new watches could bring improvements in processing performance, battery life, fitness tracking and health-related features.
A ceramic case option for the Apple Watch Series 12 has also been rumoured.
The company may additionally unveil the AirPods 5, potentially offering versions with and without active noise cancellation. New smart home devices could also be announced, although some products may be reserved for a later launch event.
Apple is further expected to reveal release details for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate and other software updates.
The September 9 event is expected to provide a clearer picture of Apple’s next-generation hardware plans, particularly with the anticipated debut of its first foldable iPhone.
