Delhi Government Unveils School Web App to Digitally Transform Public Education

The Delhi government has introduced a new digital platform, the School Web App, marking a significant step in transforming the city’s public education system. Designed as an integrated digital solution, the initiative aims to bring greater transparency, streamline school operations, and strengthen collaboration among parents, teachers, and administrators.

The app, officially launched by Education Minister Ashish Sood, serves as a centralised hub for all school-related activities, ranging from attendance and performance tracking to communication and administrative management. The government envisions it as a key component of Delhi’s broader digital governance framework, aligning with national efforts such as Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Enhancing Parent-Teacher Communication

One of the primary goals of the School Web App is to improve real-time engagement between parents and schools. The platform enables parents to monitor their children’s academic performance, attendance, and classroom activities through instant notifications and detailed progress reports. Education Minister Sood highlighted that this initiative reflects the government’s determination to create a “smarter, more inclusive, and accountable education ecosystem.”

He added that by reducing teachers’ administrative workload, the app allows educators to focus more on teaching and mentoring. Students will also benefit from better time management and digital access to study materials and school resources, making the learning experience more efficient and data-driven.

Promoting Digital and Skill-Based Learning

According to officials, the School Web App aligns closely with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which encourages experiential, skill-based, and technology-driven learning. It also integrates features related to the Fit India Movement, promoting students’ overall health and well-being alongside academics.

Minister Sood emphasized that the platform will help nurture creativity and innovation among students by giving them streamlined access to information about academic and co-curricular activities. Calling the launch a “milestone for Delhi’s education system,” he said that the initiative would encourage young minds to think independently and prepare for a rapidly evolving digital future.

Building a Transparent and Efficient System

Officials stated that the introduction of the School Web App is part of a wider mission to make public education more transparent, accessible, and efficient. By digitising routine processes such as attendance tracking, performance evaluation, and administrative decision-making, the government aims to significantly reduce paperwork and delays.

The platform’s comprehensive dashboard allows stakeholders—students, teachers, and parents—to stay informed and engaged, ensuring smooth communication and accountability at every level.

With this launch, Delhi continues to position itself at the forefront of digital education reform in India. The School Web App represents a forward-looking step toward modernising classrooms, empowering educators, and making the public education system future-ready through technology-driven transparency and collaboration.
