Heavy downpours recorded at the primary Safdarjung observatory pushed the national capital's cumulative seasonal rainfall past its typical seasonal benchmark of 640.4 millimeters, achieving this milestone with well over a month remaining in the official June-to-September period. Weather monitoring stations across the capital territory have registered substantial precipitation numbers, with areas like Ridge, Ayanagar, and Lodhi Road reporting strong cumulative totals that reinforce the region's positive seasonal balance.

Thermal and atmospheric observations from weather satellites show expansive cloud coverage continuing across central, eastern, and northern sectors of the country. These broad moisture-laden cloud systems are fueling active rainfall spells across multiple states. Over the immediate short term, widespread moderate to heavy precipitation is projected across Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh due to favorable circulation patterns.
