3 Dead, Several Injured After Gunman Opens Fire at North Carolina Restaurant from Boat

Tragedy struck Southport, North Carolina, on Saturday night when a gunman opened fire from a boat at the American Fish Company restaurant, leaving at least three people dead and seven others injured. Authorities confirmed the suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm local time at the popular pub and restaurant located at 150 Yacht Basin Drive in the Southport Yacht Basin, roughly 20 miles south of Wilmington. Police reported that three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. The condition of the survivors has not yet been disclosed.

City Manager Noah Saldo stated that the gunman arrived in a boat, fired into the restaurant crowd, and then fled. Law enforcement has advised residents to avoid the area, stay indoors, and report any suspicious activity to 911 as the investigation continues.

Officials continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and are urging the public to cooperate with authorities to ensure safety in the area. Emergency responders remain on the scene as the community reels from the shocking act of violence.
