Anya Singh Defends Aryan Khan Amid 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' Directorial Rumours

Actor Anya Singh has addressed the controversy surrounding Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, the Netflix series 'The Ba*ds of Bollywood'**, dismissing claims that a ghost director was involved. Playing the role of Sanya in the series, Singh praised Aryan for his commitment, vision, and trust in young talent.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Anya said, “I feel people just want an opportunity to bring another person down. Aryan is so deserving of the recognition he’s receiving. He worked tirelessly on this project—from 7 in the morning to 11 PM—always smiling, focused, and full of energy.”

She highlighted Aryan’s bold decision to rely on emerging writers and directors of photography rather than seasoned professionals. “He is a young guy who stuck by his vision. It was very brave of him to do this. He knew there'd be chatter, but he never questioned his approach. I have a lot of respect for how he has stood by his thoughts,” she added.

'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' was directed and written by Aryan Khan, with Bilal Siddiqui and Manav Chauhan serving as co-writers and co-creators.

Anya also revealed that the cast remained unaware of the series’ shocking climax until the day of filming. “We never read the climax. It was narrated to us on the day of the shoot. For months, we didn’t know how it would end,” she explained. Co-stars Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, and Raghav Juyal were similarly kept in the dark until the crucial scene.

The series is now streaming on Netflix.
