Bengaluru’s BlackBuck Relocates Office Citing Pothole-Plagued Roads

Bengaluru-based digital trucking platform BlackBuck, valued at over $1.3 billion, has announced plans to vacate its Outer Ring Road (ORR) office in Bellandur due to deteriorating road conditions.

CEO Rajesh Kumar Yabaji shared the decision on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting that employees spent more than 90 minutes daily navigating pothole-ridden stretches. “Roads full of potholes and dust, coupled with the lowest intent to get them rectified. Did not see any of this changing in the next five years,” he stated.

Founded in 2015 as Zinka Logistics Solutions, BlackBuck digitises India’s trucking ecosystem, connecting shippers with truck operators. Despite reporting strong growth—Rs 143.6 crore in revenue for Q1 FY26, a 56% increase year-on-year—the company says Bengaluru’s crumbling infrastructure, particularly along ORR, has become untenable.

City officials have faced criticism for failing to address traffic congestion and road maintenance. Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai called the move “a significant governance failure,” warning that continued neglect could harm Bengaluru’s global business reputation.
