Bhojpuri Actor Pawan Singh Faces Backlash After Controversial Touch at Event
Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh is facing widespread criticism after a video surfaced showing him touching co-star Anjali Raghav’s waist during a promotional event for his latest song, Saiya Seva Kare. The incident has ignited discussions about consent and professionalism in the entertainment industry.
The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows Anjali Raghav dressed in a golden saree appearing visibly uncomfortable as Singh touches her waist under the pretext of removing something stuck. Singh is heard asking her to stay still, claiming he saw something on her waist. Although Anjali does not physically object and maintains an awkward smile, the footage prompted outrage online.
Social media users have condemned the actor’s actions as inappropriate. One X user wrote, “Indian men don’t understand consent, and it gets worse in UP-Bihar. This is so-called Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh. Imagine what his fans are learning from him.” Another post added, “What a disgusting act in public! Anjali Raghav felt uncomfortable, yet he did it without shame.” Others argued that such behaviour tarnishes the image of the Bhojpuri film industry.
Despite the controversy, the song Saiya Seva Kare has garnered significant attention, with over 3.6 million views and 201,000 likes since its release on August 27. In the music video, Singh and Raghav play a married couple.
The incident has sparked renewed conversations on accountability and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries at public events.
