Delhi Police Foil Munawar Faruqui Murder Plot, Arrest Goldie Brar Gang Shooters

In a significant law enforcement operation, Delhi Police Special Cell successfully foiled a planned murder targeting popular comedian and social media influencer Munawar Faruqui. The police arrested two alleged contract killers, Rahul and Sahil, who are reportedly members of the criminal syndicate led by notorious gangsters Goldie Brar and Rohit Godara.

According to police sources, the murder plot was allegedly ordered by Rohit Godara. The motive, as revealed during initial interrogations, stems from claims that Munawar Faruqui “constantly insults and speaks against Hindu deities,” a justification given by the gang for planning the attack.

The accused had undertaken detailed reconnaissance in Mumbai and Bengaluru before arriving in Delhi, intending to procure weapons to execute the plan. One of the arrested men, Rahul, is also wanted in connection with a triple murder case in Haryana that occurred in December 2024.

Authorities said the suspects were apprehended during a police encounter at Kalindi Kunj, and further investigations are ongoing to determine if there were additional accomplices involved in the plot.

The arrests highlight the continued vigilance of Delhi Police against organized crime syndicates targeting public figures. Police officials have assured that Faruqui and other potential targets remain under protective surveillance as investigations proceed.

This case underscores the persistent threats faced by social media influencers and entertainers in India, as well as the law enforcement’s prompt action to dismantle networks responsible for orchestrating violent crimes.

The operation has been widely lauded by citizens and experts, emphasizing the importance of proactive policing and intelligence-led operations to prevent such heinous crimes.
