DMK Ally Alleges BJP Shielding Vijay After Karur Rally Stampede

VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has criticised the Tamil Nadu Police over selective action in the Karur rally stampede, which killed 41 people, raising questions about political influence and alleged protection for actor-politician Vijay.

Speaking to reporters, Thirumavalavan said:

“The Tamil Nadu Police’s actions are shocking. Tamil Nadu Police registered a case against Bussy Anand but why not against Vijay? Both are from the same party and were at the same event.”

He questioned the selective arrests and suggested possible political interference:

“Does that mean we can say there is an underground dealing between Vijay and the DMK? They (TVK) claim there was a dealing between the BJP and the DMK, but as no case has been filed and protection has been given, can we question if there is any underground dealing between DMK and Vijay?”

Thirumavalavan also alleged that the BJP is trying to shield Vijay for political gains, comparing the situation to the use of Anna Hazare by political parties.

The VCK leader called for a fair investigation and raised doubts about who is pressurising the police not to act against Vijay, demanding justice for the victims of the Karur rally tragedy.
