Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Silence on Sardaarji 3 Row, Pahalgam Attack, and India-Pakistan Match

Actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh recently addressed the controversies surrounding his film ‘Sardaarji 3’, the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, and the recent India-Pakistan cricket match during his concert in Malaysia.

Diljit clarified that the film was shot in February, prior to the Pahalgam incident, which occurred on April 22, claiming 26 lives, mostly tourists. He emphasized that Sikhs can never act against the nation and expressed sorrow over the attack, stating that prayers were offered for strict action against the terrorists.

In a viral video from the concert, Diljit said, “Woh mere desh da jhanda hai (That's my country's flag). Always respect,” while saluting the national flag. He further explained his long silence on the matter: “I have many answers, but I kept quiet… Whoever tells you anything, you shouldn't take that poison inside you. I have learned that from life.”

Earlier this year, Diljit faced widespread criticism over the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaarji 3, and the decision to release the film worldwide except in India. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) demanded that he be blacklisted and his Indian citizenship be revoked, though this order was later withdrawn.

Separately, Diljit recently wrapped up filming for his upcoming project ‘Border 2’, directed by Anurag Singh. The film features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, and is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
