Jamia BTech Student Secures ₹18 LPA Pre-Placement Offer as 2026 Placements Begin
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has launched its 2026 placement season on a promising note, with students from engineering programmes already receiving high-value offers.
A standout moment came when a BTech Computer Engineering student secured a pre-placement offer (PPO) from Optum for the role of Software Development Engineer, with a salary package of ₹18 lakh per annum. Four other students from the same programme were hired by IDFC First Bank as Application Engineers, each receiving packages worth ₹16 lakh per annum.
The strong start extended across disciplines. From the Electronics and Communication programme, a student landed a PPO at Accenture as an Associate Software Engineer with a package of ₹11.89 lakh per annum. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) recruited three students from Electrical Engineering. Two BTech graduates were offered Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) roles with ₹6 lakh per annum packages, while one MTech graduate was placed as a Post Graduate Engineer Trainee (PGET) at ₹9 lakh per annum.
The University Placement Cell credited the success to the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi, along with the dedicated efforts of placement coordinators Prof. Rahela Farooqi, Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi Sabah Khan, and Prof. Rihan Khan Suri. They congratulated the students for their early achievements and expressed confidence in a highly successful placement season ahead.
