Janhvi Kapoor Addresses Surgery Rumours, Reflects on Sridevi’s Lessons on Beauty

Actress Janhvi Kapoor has addressed long-running rumours about cosmetic surgery, crediting her late mother, Sridevi, for guiding her approach to beauty. In a candid chat on Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle, Janhvi opened up about social media pressures, beauty standards, and the importance of honesty regarding personal choices.

Addressing Cosmetic Surgery Speculations

Over the years, Janhvi has faced chatter about rhinoplasty, lip fillers, and buccal fat removal. She also dismissed bizarre viral claims about a so-called “buffalo-plasty” procedure, calling them misleading and stressing the dangers of young viewers attempting risky procedures based on online content.

“I think I have been very intelligent, conservative, and proper about what I have done. Of course, I had the guidance of my mom… transparency is important,” she said.

Lessons from Sridevi

Janhvi credits her mother for instilling a balanced approach to beauty. Sridevi’s guidance helped her make thoughtful choices while resisting social media’s unrealistic standards. Janhvi emphasised that her mother’s lessons encouraged self-acceptance and confidence, teaching her to embrace her individuality rather than conforming to arbitrary notions of perfection.

Promoting Self-Acceptance Amid Social Media Pressures

Acknowledging the influence of social media, Janhvi urged young girls to prioritise authenticity over perfection. She said she advocates being an “open book” about personal choices, encouraging conversations around cosmetic enhancements to be responsible, transparent, and stigma-free.

“I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable… I don’t want to perpetuate to young girls this idea of perfection. I’m a big believer in ‘you do you,’ do whatever makes you happy,” Janhvi noted.

Professional Updates

On the work front, Janhvi was last seen in the award-winning film Homebound, alongside Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, and the project Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumai.

Her candid approach reflects a new era in celebrity discourse—honesty, openness, and mental well-being taking precedence over curated perfection.
