Jannik Sinner Defeats Carlos Alcaraz to Win Six Kings Slam in Riyadh

Jannik Sinner delivered a stellar performance to defeat Carlos Alcaraz 6-2, 6-4 in the Six Kings Slam final held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, securing his second consecutive title at the exhibition event. The victory, achieved in just 73 minutes, earned Sinner a record-breaking $6 million, marking the largest prize money of the tennis season.

Although the Six Kings Slam is an exhibition event that does not impact ATP rankings or official head-to-head records, Sinner entered the match determined to avenge his US Open final loss against Alcaraz last month.

“Especially this season we played many, many times, I lost also many times against Carlos, it’s a huge pleasure and an honour to share the court with him… It’s nice to have a great rivalry and also, more importantly, a great friendship off the court,” Sinner said post-match, highlighting the mutual respect between the two players.

Sinner’s Serve: The Game-Changer

Sinner, 24, showcased a significantly improved serve, winning 80% of his service points and not facing a single break point throughout the match. The high altitude of Riyadh also added extra pop to his deliveries, giving him an edge over the world No. 2.

Alcaraz admitted that he felt constant pressure from Sinner’s serve, which restricted his movement and opportunities. Sinner’s victory underscores the effectiveness of the adjustments he made after previous losses in Grand Slam finals at the French Open and US Open.

Prize Money and Exhibition Details

The Six Kings Slam featured six of the world’s top players competing over three days. Every participant received a $1.5 million appearance fee, with the champion taking home an additional $4.5 million. Sinner’s total $6 million earnings surpass Alcaraz’s US Open prize, making this Saudi exhibition the most lucrative tennis event of the season.
