Mammootty Resumes Patriot Shoot in Hyderabad, Meets Anurag Kashyap
Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty has arrived in Hyderabad to resume filming for the highly anticipated political espionage thriller Patriot. His comeback follows a brief health-related hiatus that had sparked speculation among fans.
The actor, accompanied by his wife Sulfath Kutty, was spotted at Hyderabad airport before heading to his hotel, where he received a warm welcome from fans and crew. Notably, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap greeted Mammootty with a heartfelt gesture, touching his feet as a mark of respect.
Producer Anto Joseph shared a video of the meeting, captioning it, “At Hyderabad, with Mammukka and @anuragkashyap10 (sic).” The video quickly went viral, adding to the buzz around the film’s Hyderabad schedule.
Sharing his excitement on social media, Mammootty wrote: “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling.” His son Dulquer Salmaan echoed the sentiment, posting: “After a brief pause, the King returns in style. A true legend never fades. #ReturnOfTheKing.”
Patriot features a powerhouse ensemble including Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi, and Darshana Rajendran. While it remains unclear which stars will join the Hyderabad schedule, anticipation for the project is running high.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film is produced by Anto Joseph, C R Salim, and Subhash Manuel, with Manush Nandan—known for Dunki and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani—as cinematographer.
The Hyderabad schedule marks Mammootty’s first appearance on the sets since the Sri Lanka shoot in November 2024, signaling a strong return for the veteran star.
