No Mercy: Yogi Adityanath Issues Stern Warning to Rioters Ahead of Dussehra in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday issued a firm warning to potential troublemakers ahead of Dussehra, emphasising zero tolerance for riots, unrest, and lawbreaking. The CM highlighted that Dussehra represents the victory of good over evil and instructed law enforcement agencies to act decisively against miscreants.

Officials in districts including Kanpur, Varanasi, and Moradabad were directed to ensure FIRs are registered immediately for any unrest, while rioters’ properties are investigated thoroughly. Video surveillance and social media monitoring will be deployed to identify and track every individual involved.

CM Yogi also stressed that women’s safety remains a top priority. Authorities have been instructed to ensure accountability for harassment, chain snatching, and acid attacks, while special measures are being implemented for Garba and Dandiya events under Mission Shakti 5.0.

To maintain communal harmony, the CM ordered strict enforcement of safety measures during Durga Puja celebrations and Ravana effigy burnings, including avoiding oversized idols and arranging alternative immersion points. Police chiefs are conducting surprise inspections of slaughterhouses to ensure compliance with safety norms.

For crowd management, authorities have been instructed to prioritise smooth traffic flow and tighten security at key sites. Ministerial visits and reports from core group meetings will be sent directly to the CM’s office for immediate action.

In Lucknow, BJP Youth Morcha launched a poster campaign featuring Yogi Adityanath and bulldozers in response to previous “I Love Muhammad” posters, highlighting the CM’s tough law-and-order stance.

Reflecting on past governance, CM Yogi recalled that previous administrations had honoured rioters and mafias, a practice that is now firmly over. “Law and order now stands firmly above intimidation and favouritism,” he said.

The CM’s warnings follow recent incidents such as the Bareilly unrest, where clashes during a proposed demonstration led to multiple arrests. Yogi Adityanath made it clear that any attempt to disrupt peace will be met with strict enforcement, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to law and order.
