Pakistan’s School Curriculum Spins “Victory” in May’s Four-Day War with India

In a bold attempt to rewrite history, Pakistan’s new school textbooks portray the May 2025 four-day conflict with India as a Pakistani triumph, despite evidence to the contrary.

The textbooks claim India was the aggressor, that Pakistan destroyed Indian military bases, and that India “begged for peace,” while promoting General Asim Munir to Field Marshal for battlefield brilliance.

In reality, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. Pakistani strikes on Indian airbases were largely thwarted, while India inflicted heavy damage on Pakistani installations, including air defence systems and key bases in Lahore, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi. Evidence was documented through satellite imagery and press briefings.

Analysts say these fabrications aim to indoctrinate youth with propaganda, maintaining the narrative of victory and bolstering the military establishment’s image, despite the actual outcome favoring India.

The May conflict underscores a broader pattern: Pakistan’s ruling establishment continues to project defeat as triumph for domestic consumption, while ignoring verified facts.
