Punjab Police Arrest Ex-Army Commando with Pakistani Grenades

Punjab Police have foiled a potential terror threat by arresting three individuals, including a former Army commando, in Gurdaspur, recovering four hand grenades allegedly sent from Pakistan.

The Intelligence Wing of the Punjab Police carried out the arrests on Thursday night, raising concerns over cross-border smuggling and possible attacks during the upcoming festive season.

One of the accused has been identified as Dharmendra, a former Army commando who had previously served a four-year prison sentence for an undisclosed offense and had recently been released.

Officials believe the seized grenades were smuggled across the border, highlighting the risks of foreign involvement in domestic terror planning.

Senior Punjab Police officials are expected to hold a press conference on Friday to provide further details about the arrests and the investigation.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest law enforcement authorities.
