Actress Shweta Tripathi performed the Ganga aarti at a Benaras ghat while shooting for Mirzapur: The Movie, blending her professional journey with a moment of deep personal connection. The emotional experience underscored her enduring bond with the spiritual city.
Benaras, also known as Varanasi, has long held a special place in Shweta’s life and career. It served as the backdrop for her debut film Masaan and continues to inspire her artistic and spiritual growth.
Reflecting on her ties to the city, Shweta shared, “Benaras keeps calling me back. I’ve been coming here since Masaan. My Nana studied at BHU, my mother wore a Benarasi lehenga for her wedding, and even my trainer, Tridev Pandey, is from here. Mirzapur also has its roots in this region, which makes Benaras feel like home. I love the food, the relaxed pace, the kadak kulhad chai, and the simplicity of the people. Even the weather feels like it’s welcoming us.”
During her stay, Shweta was joined by the cast and crew of Mirzapur: The Movie, whose shooting has drawn significant attention from locals and fans. Pictures and videos from the sets have flooded social media, adding to the excitement surrounding the much-anticipated film.
Commenting on the fan enthusiasm, Shweta said, “The madness of Mirzapur is such that fans are constantly posting pictures from our shoots—it feels like they’re part of the family! There’s so much love and laughter behind the scenes. The Prime Video and Excel Entertainment family has grown even bigger this time, and it truly feels like one big home.”
Each visit to Benaras, she noted, is not only a part of her professional life but also a time for reflection and gratitude, strengthening her connection with the city’s heritage and traditions.
As filming for Mirzapur: The Movie continues, the anticipation remains high, with audiences eagerly awaiting its release.
