Trump Considers Supplying Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine if Russia Refuses Peace

US President Donald Trump has indicated that the United States may provide long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to end the ongoing war. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Israel, Trump said he discussed the possibility with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy during phone calls on Saturday and Sunday.

Tomahawk missiles, with a range of 2,500 km (1,550 miles), can strike deep into Russian territory, including Moscow. While the US would not supply the missiles directly, Trump said they could be provided to NATO, which could then offer them to Ukraine. Trump warned that deploying these missiles would mark "a new step of aggression" in the conflict.

President Zelenskiy assured that Ukraine would use Tomahawks solely for military targets, emphasizing they would not strike civilian areas. He added that the threat of long-range weapons could apply pressure on Russia to pursue peace.

The Kremlin has cautioned that the use of Tomahawks without US military involvement would escalate the war to a “qualitatively new stage.” Analysts warn that supplying such missiles could significantly shift the military dynamics in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, potentially raising tensions with the West.
