Uttarakhand CM Terms UKSSSC Controversy a Cheating Case, Not Paper Leak

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has clarified the ongoing controversy surrounding the UKSSSC recruitment exam, calling it a case of cheating rather than a paper leak. Speaking at a public event in Dehradun, he defended the state’s action plan and assured strict enforcement under the anti-copying law.

Since taking office in 2021, Dhami highlighted, the government has focused on employment generation, filling over 25,000 vacancies in state government jobs. He alleged that some individuals, dissatisfied with these efforts, are attempting to derail the recruitment process by spreading misinformation on social media and other platforms.

The CM clarified that a true paper leak involves the full question paper surfacing hours before an exam. “In this case, only portions of the paper were accessed, and those who received them should have reported immediately instead of circulating the information later,” Dhami said.

To address such issues, he emphasized that Uttarakhand has implemented an anti-copying law to ensure severe penalties for offenders. “Where there is law, there will be crime, but culprits caught will face strict consequences,” he warned.

On demands for a CBI enquiry, Dhami noted the mixed perceptions of the agency’s credibility. To ensure impartiality, the state has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under a retired High Court judge to probe the matter thoroughly.
