BCCI Naman Awards 2026: Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, Mithali Raj Among Top Honourees

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to celebrate the achievements of Indian cricket’s finest players and contributors at the prestigious Naman Awards 2026, taking place in New Delhi. The annual ceremony recognises exceptional performances and contributions across international and domestic cricket.

One of the most notable highlights of this year’s event will be the presentation of the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award to former cricketers Roger Binny and Rahul Dravid. This honour is considered the highest recognition given by the BCCI for outstanding service and long-term contributions to Indian cricket.

Both Binny and Dravid have played important roles in shaping the country’s cricket legacy. Roger Binny is widely remembered for his performances during India’s historic 1983 World Cup victory, while Rahul Dravid remains one of the most respected figures in Indian cricket history for his achievements as a player, captain, and mentor.

In women’s cricket, former India captain Mithali Raj will receive the BCCI Lifetime Achievement Award for Women. The award recognises her remarkable contribution to the growth and success of women’s cricket in India. Mithali Raj’s career has been widely celebrated for setting several records and inspiring a new generation of women cricketers.

Apart from lifetime honours, the Naman Awards 2026 will also recognise outstanding individual performances during the 2024–25 cricket season.

India’s Test and One-Day International captain Shubman Gill will receive the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men). This marks the second time Gill has received this prestigious recognition for his performances in international cricket.

In the women’s category, Smriti Mandhana will be honoured with the Best International Cricketer (Women) award for the fifth time in her career. Her consistent performances across formats have made her one of the most influential players in women’s cricket.

Domestic cricket achievements will also be celebrated during the ceremony. Mumbai’s Ira Jadhav will receive the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for Best Woman Cricketer in Domestic Cricket after an impressive season.

Shafali Verma will be recognised as the Best Woman Cricketer in Senior Domestic One-Day tournaments for her strong performances in the format.

In the men’s domestic category, Ayush Mhatre will be awarded the Lala Amarnath Award for Best All-Rounder in Domestic Limited-Overs Cricket. Vidarbha’s Harsh Dubey will receive the award for Best All-Rounder in the Ranji Trophy for his exceptional performance in the domestic red-ball competition.

The Mumbai Cricket Association will also receive recognition for its outstanding domestic season. The association secured four tournament titles and finished as runners-up in two competitions, making it one of the most successful domestic teams of the year.

Another major highlight of the Naman Awards 2026 will be the felicitation of five Indian teams that recently achieved success in international cricket tournaments.

These include the senior men’s team that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The senior women’s team that lifted the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will also be honoured.

Additionally, both India’s men’s and women’s Under-19 teams that won the ICC Under-19 World Cups will be recognised during the ceremony.

The Naman Awards continue to be one of the most important celebrations of Indian cricket, acknowledging the achievements of players, teams, and administrators who contribute to the growth of the sport in the country.
