Bigg Boss Marathi Fame Jay Dudhane Arrested in Rs 4.61 Crore Real Estate Fraud Case

Reality television personality Jay Dudhane, best known for his appearance on Bigg Boss Marathi, has been arrested in connection with an alleged real estate fraud case involving commercial properties in Maharashtra’s Thane district. The arrest took place at Mumbai airport, days after the reality TV star made headlines for his wedding.

According to investigators, the case is based on a complaint filed by a retired engineer who alleged that Dudhane, along with four members of his family, cheated him of Rs 4.61 crore through a fraudulent property transaction. The complainant claimed he was convinced to invest in five commercial shops that were later discovered to be already mortgaged to a bank.

Allegations Linked to Forged Property Documents

As per the complaint, the accused allegedly presented forged documents to gain the investor’s confidence. These documents reportedly included a fake bank clearance certificate and a counterfeit demand draft worth Rs 4.95 crore, which were used to portray the properties as legally free from financial encumbrances.

The fraud reportedly came to light when the bank issued a seizure notice for the mortgaged properties, alerting the investor that the shops were never cleared for sale. Following this, the complainant approached the police, leading to the registration of a formal case.

Law enforcement officials stated that the accused are being investigated under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for offences related to cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy. Authorities have indicated that further questioning and financial scrutiny are ongoing to determine the full scope of the alleged scam.

Arrest at Mumbai Airport

Jay Dudhane was taken into custody at Mumbai airport while attempting to travel. Police sources confirmed that his arrest was executed following the FIR and preliminary investigation, which pointed towards his alleged involvement in the transaction.

Officials added that family members named in the complaint are also under investigation. The possibility of additional arrests or recoveries has not been ruled out as the probe progresses.

Career and Public Profile

Jay Dudhane rose to fame after winning Splitsvilla 13, where he gained recognition as a fitness trainer and model. His popularity further expanded when he participated in — and later won — Bigg Boss Marathi Season 3, making him a well-known face in regional entertainment.

Following his reality TV success, Dudhane went on to work in Marathi films and television projects, gradually building a presence beyond reality shows. His recent wedding to content creator Harshala in December 2025 had kept him in the public eye shortly before the arrest.

Police officials have stated that the investigation remains at an early stage. Financial records, bank transactions and property documents linked to the accused are being examined to establish accountability and verify the extent of the alleged fraud.

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculation, stressing that the legal process will determine individual responsibility based on evidence.
