The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for candidates to update or confirm their bank account details for the NEET UG 2026 examination fee refund until July 14, 2026 (11:50 pm).
The refund is being processed for candidates affected by the cancellation of the May 3, 2026 NEET UG examination. Alongside the extension, NTA has also indicated that the NEET UG 2026 re-exam results are expected to be declared by July 20, after reviewing objections submitted against the provisional answer key.
The agency said the revised timeline will not impact the medical admission schedule for the current academic session.
Candidates who have not yet confirmed or corrected their bank account details now have additional time to complete the process.
According to NTA, nearly 10,28,223 candidates have already completed the verification process, and refunds have begun for eligible applicants.
The previous deadline was July 7, 2026.
The refund applies to candidates whose examination fee is being returned following the cancellation of the May 3 NEET UG 2026 examination.
Candidates who have not yet verified their bank details should complete the process before the revised deadline to avoid delays in receiving the refund.
Eligible candidates can update or verify their bank account information through the official NTA portal.
Candidates should ensure that the account details entered are accurate to facilitate successful refund processing.
The NTA is expected to announce the NEET UG 2026 re-examination results by July 20.
The re-test was conducted on June 21, 2026, after the original examination held on May 3 was cancelled over alleged paper leak concerns affecting more than 20 lakh candidates.
Officials have said the revised schedule has been designed to ensure that the medical admission calendar remains on track.
The provisional answer key for the re-examination was released on June 25, and candidates were allowed to raise objections until June 28.
Applicants challenging any answer were required to pay a refundable fee of ₹200 per question.
According to officials:
The final answer key will be released before the declaration of results.
Following the declaration of results, the admission process will proceed according to the approved medical counselling schedule.
