For the first time in 41 years, India and Pakistan are set to clash in an Asia Cup final, scheduled for September 28, 2025, in Dubai. Both teams have a rich history of high-stakes encounters, but they have never met in the final of this tournament. India, undefeated in the current championship, became the first team to qualify for the decider, followed by Pakistan, who secured their spot with an 11-run win over Bangladesh.
India are the most successful side in Asia Cup history with eight titles, while Pakistan have lifted the trophy twice. This year, India have dominated, winning all six of their matches, whereas Pakistan’s only losses came against India.

Pakistan set 250/6, and despite Vinod Kambli’s 56, India fell short at 211, reinforcing Pakistan’s Sharjah dominance.
1998 – Independence Cup, Dhaka: India won by 3 wickets
Sourav Ganguly’s brilliant 124 anchored India’s chase of Pakistan’s 314/5, achieving a nerve-racking victory in the decider of the Silver Jubilee Independence Cup.
1999 – Pepsi Cup, Bangalore: Pakistan won by 123 runs
Wasim Akram’s Pakistan posted 291/8; India’s top-order collapsed, resulting in a heavy 123-run defeat.

India were bowled out for 125, and Pakistan chased it easily, marking consecutive dominant finals for Pakistan.
2007 – ICC T20 World Cup, Johannesburg: India won by 5 runs
India’s 157/5 was defended successfully, with Joginder Sharma holding nerve in the final over. Misbah-ul-Haq’s scoop attempt was caught by Sreesanth, delivering a thrilling T20 triumph.
2017 – ICC Champions Trophy, The Oval: Pakistan won by 180 runs
Pakistan crushed India with Fakhar Zaman’s 114 leading the charge to 338/4. India’s chase fell short at 158, marking a historic Champions Trophy victory.
From Miandad’s iconic last-ball six to Dhoni’s 2007 T20 heroics, Ganguly’s epic 1998 chase, and Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy triumph, Indo-Pak finals have provided some of cricket’s most thrilling moments.
