Bihar Flash Flood Alert Issued After Four Days of Heavy Rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a flash flood alert for multiple districts in Bihar, following four consecutive days of heavy rain that have disrupted normal life across the state.

Districts under alert include Patna, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Madhubani, Purnia, and over 20 others.

Reports from Sasaram indicate severe flooding, with the entire city submerged and roads, hospitals, schools, and offices affected. Over 100 vehicles at Narayan Medical College, Jamuhar are underwater. Several mud houses have collapsed, and local authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as water levels remain high.

The Rohtas district administration has issued warnings, and IMD had already issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall across Bihar for Saturday, escalating concerns about flooding in low-lying regions.

The weather department has also issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, while moderate to heavy rains are expected in the Northeastern states, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next few days.

Residents are advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow government advisories until the situation improves.
