Donald Trump Says Not Winning Nobel Peace Prize Would Be ‘Big Insult’ to US

US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that if his Gaza peace proposal “works out,” he would have resolved **eight wars in eight months,” but insisted that the Nobel Peace Prize would likely go to someone who “didn’t do a damn thing,” calling the snub a “big insult” to America.

Trump made the remarks during a high-profile military gathering at Quantico, Virginia, hosted by Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Trump on Gaza Peace Proposal

Discussing his 20-point Gaza plan, Trump said:

“If this works out, we'll have solved eight wars in eight months. That's pretty good. Nobody's ever done that.”

Despite claiming credit for potentially ending multiple conflicts, he expressed skepticism about receiving global recognition:

“Will you get the Nobel Prize? Absolutely not. They'll give it to some guy who didn’t do a damn thing… It will be a big insult to our country. I don’t want it. I want the country to get it.”

The peace proposal, released by the White House a day earlier, called for:

  • Immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas

  • Hostage exchanges

  • Staged Israeli withdrawal from Gaza

  • Hamas disarmament

  • Transitional governance led by an international body

While Israel has expressed support for the plan, Hamas has yet to receive the document.

Repeating India-Pakistan Ceasefire Claim

Trump also reiterated an earlier claim of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after clashes following the Pahalgam terror attacks and Operation Sindoor.

“India and Pakistan were going at it. I called them both… They had just shot down seven planes… I said, if you do this, there's not going to be any trade, and I stopped the war,” he said.

Trump noted the Pakistani Prime Minister and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir acknowledged his role, claiming he “saved millions of lives.”

However, India has consistently denied Trump’s version, asserting the ceasefire was achieved via direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations of both militaries.
