Gaza Peace Deal Nears Completion: Trump Confirms Final-Stage Talks with Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump has indicated that negotiations for a peace agreement aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in Gaza are in their “final stages.” The deal reportedly has the support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, key Arab nations, and Hamas, according to Axios. Trump and Netanyahu are scheduled to meet at the White House on Monday to advance the discussions.

Speaking to Axios, Trump said, “Everybody has come together to get a deal, but we still have to get it done. The Arab countries were fantastic to work with on this. Hamas is coming with them… The Arab world wants peace, Israel wants peace, and Bibi wants peace.”

The President suggested that the agreement could mark “the first chance for real peace in the Middle East” and described its successful implementation as “a great day for Israel and the Middle East.” Trump highlighted the role of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and Jordan in facilitating the process.

The peace plan, unveiled at the UN General Assembly, includes a 21-point roadmap aiming for the return of all hostages, a halt to further Israeli attacks on Qatar, and renewed dialogue between Israel and Palestine for peaceful coexistence.

Netanyahu told Fox News that the agreement could include amnesty for Hamas leaders, stating, “If leaders, if Hamas leaders, for example, are escorted out of the country… if they finish the war and release all the hostages, we let them out.”

Meanwhile, Hamas denied receiving new proposals from Qatari and Egyptian mediators but reiterated its willingness to study any proposals positively, emphasizing that national rights must be preserved.

The peace talks come after nearly two years of war, which have killed tens of thousands in Gaza, displaced the entire population, and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis.
