Kim Kardashian Sparks Moon Landing Debate, NASA Responds with Proof of Apollo Missions

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has stirred a global debate after expressing doubts about the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon landing, suggesting the event may have been fabricated. Her remarks, made during the October 30 episode of The Kardashians, quickly went viral and prompted a swift and factual response from NASA officials.

In a conversation with actor Sarah Paulson, Kardashian cited several viral TikTok videos and online clips questioning the legitimacy of the first lunar mission. Referring to astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, she said, “I’m sending you, so far, a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one.”

Kim continued, referencing an interview clip: “This girl asks Buzz Aldrin, ‘What was the scariest moment?’ and he said, ‘There was no scary moment, because it didn’t happen.’ He’s older now, so he slips up. So I think it didn’t happen.”

In her confessional, the SKIMS founder elaborated on her skepticism, pointing to commonly discussed “inconsistencies” such as the moving flag, footprint mismatches, and absence of visible stars in Moon-landing footage. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake,” she said. When asked about public backlash, she added, “They’re going to say I’m crazy no matter what. But go to TikTok. See for yourself.”

Her comments instantly trended online, with mixed reactions flooding social media platforms. Some users supported her questioning attitude, while others criticized her for spreading misinformation.

Responding to the viral moment, NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy addressed the claim directly on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before — six times!” Duffy further highlighted NASA’s Artemis Program, which aims to return astronauts to the lunar surface, stating, “We won the last space race, and we’ll win this one too.”

Experts have reiterated that decades of evidence — including lunar rock samples, photographs, telemetry data, and ongoing satellite observations — conclusively prove that the Moon landings were authentic.

Kardashian’s statement has once again reignited the Moon landing conspiracy theories that have persisted since the 1970s. However, scientists and historians emphasize that the Apollo missions remain among the most thoroughly documented events in human history.

The Kardashians is currently streaming on Hulu, with the episode featuring Kardashian’s controversial comments drawing significant global attention.
